Dr Ewen Chee is the founder and medical director of The Chelsea Clinic, (formerly Wen & Weng Medical Group). He graduated from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine, University of London with distinction in medicine and subsequently obtained his Grad.Dip FP Dermatology from the National University of Singapore.

Dr Chee’s interest in Dermatology/Aesthetics arose from his own battle with acne prone skin, leading him to pursue courses and training with doctors in aesthetic medicine around the world. He then became a board certified Diplomate of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. Locally, Dr Chee founded his practice in 2000 and is a familiar name in the Aesthetic medicine field, having been featured in numerous publications for his expertise and as a speaker at medical workshops and conferences. His pet interests are in the usage of lasers in the treatment of acne, acne scarring, pigmentation, and the use of fillers in facial shaping. He has attended the Master Class for Trainers Workshop Juvederm®. Dr Chee has also been approved as the local trainer for Algeness – a 100% natural procedure.

Dr Chee is the regional trainer for Threadlift and helped co-chair the first Asia-Pacific Threadlift conference (APEM), held in Singapore. His philosophy with regards to aesthetic medicine is to practice safe, scientifically sound medicine with minimal downtime. Treatments should also be made affordable so that none should be deprived of looking and feeling better.

Dr. Charlotte Kim Yung

Dr Charlotte Yung graduated from National University of Singapore in 1985 and did her post graduate degree in Family Medicine. She is a registered family physician and strongly believes in the philosophy of treating patients in the context of the person, family and the community that they live in.

She strives to practice patient centered care based on scientific evidence and a good doctor-patient relationship. As a family physician, Dr Yung is concerned not only with the acute or chronic medical problems that a person has, but also focuses on keeping the person well, healthy and functioning. Therefore disease prevention through health screening and counseling on diet, exercise and weight management are all part of Dr Yung’s practice.

Dr Yung has a special interest in dermatology and it was through this that she developed her aesthetic practice because many of her patients approached her to treat their wrinkles, saggy skin, acne and pigmentation problems. When IPL, lasers and improved skin treatments came on the scene, she decided to use them on her patients so that they could get better results. She derives great pleasure when patients are satisfied and happy with their treatment.

Dr Yung also trained as a lactation consultant and was certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultants in 1993. She continues to be an advocate of breastfeeding because of the enhanced health and psychological benefits for both the mother and child. She provides treatment of breastfeeding problems in her clinic.

Dr. Vanessa Phua

Dr. Vanessa Phua embarked on her medical journey in ophthalmology early into her journey as a medical professional. Since then, she has been particularly keen on aesthetic rejuvenation in a bid to assist both men and women in boosting their confidence. As such, she went on to pursue her passion and is now considered a trusted veteran in this competitive industry. Her experience and skill in providing aesthetic services have earned her a reputation. Dr Phua’s signature treatments specializes in the areas of face lifting and anti-aging. Papillion Revitalizing Threadlift and body contouring are her niches.

Due to her years of experience, Dr Phua is also the regional trainer for aesthetic medical procedures. She stays current with international advances in non-surgical techniques while ensuring that each doctor is trained so that every patient will receive the great standards in safety and aesthetic results. The term “ Joie de vivre “ is coined from a notable French phrase which refers to expressing a cheerful enjoyment of life, an exultation of spirit. With this motto, Dr Phua seeks support each patient through their aesthetic journey and give them a sense of freedom through a more youthful outlook and therefore, let them experience a joy that life can only bring.

Dr. Elaine Chee

MBBS, M.Med (Ophth), FRCS(Ed)

Dr Elaine Chee practices general ophthalmology in both children and adults, including cataract surgeries, glaucoma screening and management, diabetic eye screening and retina lasers; and she is a consultant at Eye and Retina Surgeons, Camden Medical Centre. Her past appointments include, Chairman of the Joint Commission International committee (JCI) at the Singapore National Eye Centre, in charge of ensuring the clinical practice standards adhered to that of the JCI standards. She was also a member of the Clinical Competency Committee in charge of teaching the ophthalmology trainees, as well as a clinical tutor to medical undergraduates from the Yong Loo Lin Medical School.

Dr Chee was actively involved in education and research and was an adjunct associate scientist of the Singapore Eye Research Institute. Her research interests include: lacrimal gland gene protein related studies. She has authored papers in the field of Oculoplastics with special interest in Asian blepharoplasty and endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR). She is also a reviewer for the Oculoplastics journal : Oculoplastics and Reconstructive Surgery (OPRS). She was awarded the Ministry of Health Scholarship to pursue further Oculoplastics and Aesthetics training in Samsung Medical Centre under Professor Yoon Duck Kim and in Kim’s Eye hospital under Dr Jae Woo Jang, in Seoul, Korea. She has a special interest in oculoplastic conditions and surgeries as well as aesthetic rejuvenation of the eyes and face.

Dr Chee’s areas of expertise include: double eyelid procedures, eyebag surgeries, droopy lids and lid malpositions. Dr Chee also specializes in tearing conditions of the eye, and performs tear duct surgeries via both the external and endoscopic (scarless) methods. She also specializes in the management of orbital conditions such as thyroid eye disease, orbital fracture repair and tumors around the eye. Dr Chee is experienced in injections for medical conditions such as hemifacial spasm and blepharospasm. She is also experienced in non-surgical aesthetic rejuvenation of the face and eyes with the use of fillers and intense pulsed light (IPL), which complement modern surgical techniques in facial rejuvenation. Dr Elaine Chee acts as an advisor to The Chelsea Clinic for aesthetic treatments around the eye area.
